In touch with the news
by Claudia Sonea

In the Internet Era everything information is just one click away. Just turn on your computer and an entire world is opening right in front of you and gives you the chance to choose from a wide range of fields, from diets to the latest news, from US to Japan and all round the world.
In US the main concerns nowadays are the economy and of course the presidential elections which promises to be a big influence on the course of the economic crisis. As it is, the political blogs and independent news sites have been inundated by visitors. Reston, a company which measures online traffic, presented its report on Wednesday revealing that HuffingtonPost.com, a Democratic-leaning blog and news website, had 4.5 million visitors in September 2008, while last year it barely had 792,000. Politico.com, a political news site, had 2.4 million visitors this year, quadruple than last year. A similar increase happened in the case of Realclearpolitics.com, while Drudgereport.com ( Republican leaning) got 2.0 million visitors. DailyKos.com, Townhall.com, Newsbusters.org, TalkingPointsMemo.com, MichelleMalkin.com and RedState.com, also doubled the number of people visiting them.
Yet, the grand mass of people prefere visiting the important outlets like Yahoo News because they are more reliable and with a wider range. It is obvious that the Internet is beginning to be an indispensable part in our life and even more now that information is vital for survival in society currently. Every click means we are better informed, better prepared, in touch with the latest changes and with our times. Enjoy your clicking.
