A promising event
by Claudia Sonea

No good news apparently, the economy is still struggles and Wall Street is still ravaged by fallings of the shares’ prices. The $700 bailout program is still being worked at and it is too recent for any results to be seen. In the meantime companies are struggling to reduce losses. Apple Inc lost 56 percent of the stock value since December last year, but it is not giving up and plans to keep up with the competition.
Next week on Tuesday, Apple will hold an event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, that besides presenting some of its already well-known products it is also expected to come up with something revolutionary. According to their invitation, in the centre of attention will be their laptops with improvements that will make people stand in awe. The notebooks will be updated and most probably will have a new design, more appealing. However, the main question is whether the cost will continue to be so high (starting at $1099- which is twice the cost of the cheapest laptops with Windows on them). Although they tried to justify the highs cost with value engineering and volume manufacturing, the customers don’t seem to think the same way.
Up to now, Apple was relaying on design and functionality and they said that they will continue in that direction. As far as the matter of the price cutting, well…they did not seem willing to actually go through with it. Don’t stop hoping yet, until Tuesday there is plenty of time for Apple’s executives to change their mind. Stay connected and you will be the first one to find out.
