Although we have said our good bye to the analog signal and technologies based on analog transmission, the fact is analog can soon survive its own rennaisance. According to the news coming from Australia, analog antennas are capable to catch and mediate internet signal. Why is this even a topic if we hear about optical wires 24/7? Well there are places in this world where optical wires or wifi is just a dream or let's say huge technological challenge. Australia has wide and open parts of landscape typical with very disperse population and the term „nano-people“ has been already established between IT and marketing teams. So the hide and seek for the technology b! eing able to transmit internet into these remote parts of the country remains an important issue – not only for Australia, but also for U.S., Canada, Finland and other countries with the same landscape structure. The premise is based on the fact that almost everyone owns classic analog TV and antenna that could be used if internet signal would have proper lenght level. News also suggest that analog signal would have another advantage – independent and stable download speed 24/7. Current download is directly influenced by the number of connected users so literally it means the more users, the worse download capacity. Analog download would be free of this model. Although Australia suggest a speed of 100 megabits per second will be a standard, government science agency CSIRO teams have recognized it is a long way to go for people living in remote places. According to CSIRO a new technology will soon be tested in villages with less than 1,000 inhabitants.
