Global Innovations
by Claudia Sonea

Countries all over the world have as strategy the innovation in order to create hotspots locations. Most of them are willing to share their new technology to the others and of course there are still some that would rather keep it personal. Hungary, Poland and Roumania are three of the countries that want to export their innovations and my country's name being there doesn't surprise my at all. Roumania is a small country, but with loads of opportunities and great talents that are for sale, because of the wage problem. So like the other two, it tries to create a value-added products and then sell them abroad at a higher price that they would be forced to do in their country. This is the model adopted from U.S. and most of the Eastern countries had adopted it too. According to Mark Minevich, CEO of Going Global Ventures Inc, Russia and the Ukraine are trying to copy the Singapore's model, that is to offer tax deduction and benefits to manufacturing companies (Pioneer Incentive, Investment Allowance are only some of the incentives of Singapore). The first two countries mentioned in the beginning would bring experts from U.S, UK, China and India only to to assist in their research and development efforts, the government having less involvement than in Russia or Ukraine. In my opinion Roumania has no need of foreign help, it has enough skilled workers and the educational level is very high here, despite the statistics. The prove is in the great number of Romanian workers all over the world. There are six Romanians working at NASA as tech engineers and examples like this are too many too put it down in writing. The Romanian students that leave with a scholarship abroad are retained there to work, because they prove themselves hardworking and highly prepared. So it's essential not to trust only statistics and try to find out the truth behind them. I am subjective indeed, but I might just know more then someone who has never put a foot in the country discussed. Surf on and discover the truth on your own. Watch a movie about China Global Scouting.
