Even though there is much much more information on the Internet than in anything else in the world (try to stuff all that into an encyclopedia), it is still faster to find the exact piece of information you're looking for. The world's most popular search engines are: Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Only in the US, 56.5% of the total of searches is done through Google Search, Microsoft's MSN/Live Search takes up only 11.3% of that total. However, the statistics also tell us that Live Search has been visited by 37% of all searching surfers. What happened to all the people? Why did they leave Microsoft's page? In order to attract more customers, Microsoft had to come up with a brilliant new idea that catches customers' attention and creates an opportunity cost against the competition: Microsoft's launching idea was to provide advertisement according to customers' age, gender or salaries & to understand user queries better. Of course, there is a huge difference in expectations when "Porsche for sale" is researching a 45-year-old businessman or a 16-year old teenager. The German agency PDA informed about the year 2006's 30% increase of the market of addresses of companies that are be available for the online searches & that will be $ 6.9 billion. According to The Register, Microsoft unveiled the new updates on its Search engine updates on September 26. Also, they are planning to upgrade their system every twelve months. The company now states (after 2 years of effortless experiments) that their search is finally equally efficient to Yahoo! Search and getting very close to Google's level. All this improvement will be available to American web surfers on Monday October 22. To sum it up, Microsoft is not worried about searchers leaving its pages. It is confident thanks to the amount of page's visits and believe the upgrade will discard Google.
