Android, the make-up of cell phones.
by Barbie Kunkelova

An android is a robot designed to resemble a human, usually both in appearance, behavior and few abilities. For the first time it was uttered by a German priest Albertus Magnus in 1270 or it refers to tiny human-shaped toys in the US from 1863. And since a human being is almost perfect, a humanoid robot can be no worse. And since Android is perfect itself, it couldn't have been named better. Google bought Android Inc., the startup that specializes in making software for mobile phones, two years ago, for its mobile arsenal. A very little was known about Android's work back then, it was a very secretive company. And only a little more could have been predicted about Google's intentions. Obviously Google was getting ready to move into wireless. Today we know. In few hours there will be a conference held in San Diego. Google's CEO Eric Schmidt and all 34 members of Open Headset Alliance will be present to see Android being introduced. Introduced as a package that simply has it all. An operating system, middleware, user-friendly interface and applications. It will be available to consumers in the first half of 2008, and, what's more, it will be free. Because it's based on one of the most progressive, developer-friendly open-source licenses, the mobile operators who will offer it on their phones are given freedom and flexibility to design their own products and apply improvements. They will be able to customize Android to make their final products as cheap, innovative and comfortable as possible. Such a huge competition for rival mobile operators! Android will provide its users with a superior mobile experience, for less money! Cell phones are turning into little computers.
