The Improvement of Yahoo Mail
by Daniela Simkova

Yahoo wants to improve and turn to more social and mobile Web. Company co-founder and CEO, Jerry Yang, was speaking at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He said that making Yahoo Web more flexible, mobile, and social would strengthen its position between the users, that want to be use online communication. Jerry Yang rendered a little example of the Yahoo Mail new generation, Inbox 2.0, which had a success because it enables users the personal connections over the Yahoo and its networks. The basic and important idea lies in the separating of messages according to the level of importance. The most important people for you list above the other mails. This "testing inbox" shows the summarizing results not only of the e-mail messages, instant messages, text messages, and your voice messages, but when you click on the button "simplify your inbox, " you can see the summarizing result also in your connection in the MySpace and LinkedIn social networks. Jeremiah Owyang, an analyst for the Forrester Research thinks that Web mail is supposed to have some social connection between all the products provided. He says: "By centralizing the main communications and aggregating on the Yahoo mail platform, the opportunity to centralize and add value to users is at hand. The challenge will be in Yahoo gently deploying these features, educating users and being flexible, changing the communication habits that users are accustomed to takes time."
