Chris Cantell Discusses Technologies: Sony rolling out projects
by Claudia Sonea

It is summer season and the market is assaulted with all kind of projects dwelled upon during the winter. Sony has started to roll out what it has prepared for its faithful and future customers. After making public the launch of dynamic in-game advertising on its PlayStation 3 console, Sony announced the release of the latest model of LCD flat panels. On Thursday, the world's largest media conglomerate was proud to announce that due to their latest deal YouTube and Wired.com will join the video providers for the Internet Video Link device, a small box connecting to the home broadband router and because it is installed into the back of the LCD flat panel TVs it can be controlled by their remote. The small little box full of promises of entertainment costs $300, so it isn’t just for anybody. The good news is that at least the video service will come for free. Among other video providers there are also Yahoo, AOL, Sports Illustrated and Style.com which makes me think Yahoo had some deals through the year after all. Sony’s product it isn’t without competition as Apple Inc. has too an Apple TV set-top box broadcasting YouTube and with the advantage that it works with any high-end set top. Some other updates were the two high-end LCD TV models with LED backlighting. You might say that it is no update as there was already such a model on the market and it costs as much as a car would: $33000. Yet, these new models have smaller diagonals and are most likely to be way cheaper and more accessible to those who are obvious not simple clerks or teachers. Isn’t life peachy?
