by Lenka Filipova
IDC has made a research recently stating that Apple Inc.'s iPhone has actually made up 19.2 per cent of the total U. S. market for the first quarter in 2008. These smart phones are expected to boom the market in this summer. Well, in the last quarter of the former year, the overall iPhone share made up 26.7 per cent including the season of holiday shopping. Apple told it sold in this quarter 1.7 million iPhones.According to the research it has been proclaimed that 44.5 per cent of the market was represented by the BlackBerry, which in the previous year took 35.1 per cent. As the IDC's analyst Ramon Llamas said, the BlackBerry now belongs to the strongest professional consumer segment as RIM had managed to make the demand for this device more attractive. Palm Inc., which is the younger vendor among RIM, made up 13.4 per cent of the market, what is a substantial increase if it was compared with the last year share of 7.9 per cent. It managed to do so successfully mainly due to the gain on the strength of the Centro phone. After Palm Inc. there is Samsung Electronics with its rise form 5.1 per cent in the previous quarter to 8.6 per cent in this quarter. This increase is attributed to the BlackJack, which was available on Verizon Wireless.iPhones have their usual applications as common phones, but on addition to these they are designed to provide common activities that you can do on the Internet on your computer. For instance, you may send or receive e-mails, surf through the Web, and as a matter of fact, the appliances are equipped with the alphabetic keyboard or touch screen.
