Google reigns as world's most powerful 10-year-old by Radka Konkolova

Google is celebrating. Right, it has been exactly ten years since this “miracle” saw the world for the first time. I think it is relatively long time, but need of such things is not unusual because the world is nowadays very quick and everything is always developing. The creators of this project are very intelligent and creative men, whose names are Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Besides this brilliant idea in the beginning they had got four computers and investment in the value of $100,000. I think these two men didn’t even suspected how successful they become.

Anyway, nowadays the market value of this company is $150 billion and currently it employs approximately 20,000 employees. This searching engine is daily used by about 650 million people worldwide and in my opinion no one from them could imagine they daily work without using this part of Internet, which is able to find you almost everything what comes on your mind.

At first Google was only ordinary Internet browser and search engine but these days it is also something more. It includes some special features and functions which can make the user’s life and work easier and more comfortable. This searching engine as well as other Internet services as YouTube, Gmail or Maps also includes protection which keeps personal and private data and information safe and doesn’t allow the access of other persons to these data.

This system is very useful and on quite high level but creators think there are still some things using of whose usage would be more popular, easier and entertaining. The lengthy to-do list also includes: making digital copies of all the world's books; establishing electronic file cabinets for people's health records; leading the alternative energy charge away from fossil fuels; selling computer programs to businesses over the Internet; and tweaking its search engine so it can better understand requests stated in plain language, just like a human would.

Google has even made some acquisitions with some Internet and computers making companies and they have been very successful. In spite of its achievement it has got still many competitors who try to reach and acquire Google’s place on the market. They could also do so. But I think it will be very difficult and long-run story because Google is one big and stable company which won’t give up and let someone else to stay on its place…
