Amazon Launches PayPhrase by Magdalena Rosova

Amazon.com decided to simplify the process of buying items online. Instead of typing your name, address and credit card number Amazon will let you purchase products with a short phrase such as “Shoppaholic Girl” and an identification number. New system named as Amazon PayPhrase is planned to be unveiled the following Thursday. Amazon allows you to save your personal information and credit card number represented only by a short phrase and ID number that you can choose on your own. It means that instead of typing a credit card number and your home address you simply enter that phrase and your PIN. Amazon is not only site that accept the PayPhrase system, bu! t there are many others. It is normal that Web sites accept various types of payments, therefore Amazon believes many will receive also PayPhrase system. Amazon says that advantage of PayPhrase system is that it is much simpler and also more flexible. Consumers can set up more phrases and ID numbers tied to the same credit card. The system also enable parents to give their children phrases and ID numbers which have monthly allowances. Amazon processes all transactions and earns a commission each time someone uses PayPhrase on a different Web site. There is already a service called Checkout by Amazon, which allows consumers buying items on non-Amazon Web sites by using information stored in their account on Amazon.com. Amazon also offers a “1-Click” ordering option. However, this service is not as flexible as PayPhrase and Checkout by Amazon requires more steps. PayPhrase will be accepted by all Web sites that already use Checkout by Amazon, for example ele! ctronics retailer J&R Electronics or outdoor gear and clothing! company Patagonia.
