iPhone versus the Droid
by Silvia Szarkova
Next week is gonna be the first week of selling of the Droid, Verizon Wireless´ answer to Apple´s iPhone. The Droid is sold for 199.99 dollars, which is comparable with the basic model of iPhone and is supposed to bring back the lost fame and fortune both to Verizon and its manufacturer Motorola Inc., which last gave a hit on the market with Razr phone- but that was in 2005. It is more than just a gadget that can make calls- it more beyoond it. It already traditional with competitive products, that the latest release is better, smarter, cooler, ....etc that the one from the competitive company. And that is not different with the Droid in comparance to iPhone. Th! e new divece can also boost Google Inc., which used the Droid for the new mapping software, that made the Garmin Ltd.´s stocks plunge immediatelly after the announcement. Exept this, Verizon is trying to point out in huge commercials and other ads the physical keyboard and the posibillity to run seven application at once. Using the Droid for blogging, chating and social networking is common thing that even does not have to be mentioned. The Droid runs Google´s operating system Android in it latest version 2.0 seen for the first time in the Droid. It has five megapixel camera- better than iPhone- and a tiny flash. It also has voice-activated online search. The display is slightly bigger the battery can last for 6 hours of calling. But it is heavier and thincker than iPhone, and some say it is little masculine. Now, which was is better?
