Probably I don't say this too often, but I love Intel. It is not only one of the best brands, but it has earned numerous times the flattery of being called number one. Although they are very reserved towards their private commercial offerings, they broke the patterns and launched the biggest open-source project they had until now. They also collaborated with Linux in contributing code to its kernel and developed some open-source drivers. The TBB (Threading Building Blocks) is a software C++ template library that helps programmers to build applications running in parallel which means it uses multi-core processors and is both an open-source and a commercial offering. Some of the TBB's advantages are: it detects the number of cores on the hardware making the necessary adjustments in order for the software to adapt and this way using multi-core to its fully potential; it is easier to use and more efficiently and has programmers express tasks instead of threads, etc. The company has kept its pragmatic side and it is still supporting the commercial version of Intel Threading Building Blocks 2.0 at a price of $299. The commercial version includes support from Intel and I guess that is the reason why you pay instead of simply acquiring from someone else. The TBB will be offered under the GPL v2. So, the world leader in silicon innovation, develops technologies, products and initiatives to improve the way people work and live. I like this brand because it always bring something new, breaking the patterns and taking you by surprise. Don't waste your time anymore, see how you can put your hands on a TBB processors, because it's a great thing. Not only for those that needed for their employer, but also for the usual user, that won't feel right from the beginning the benefits of this product. Surf on and enjoy!
