Welcome your new mate!
by Eva Matova

If you have always dreamed about having your own humanoid robot at home, Japanese have created something for you! A new robot was introduced to public this Tuesday and I am sure you will just love it. It is similar to the humanoid robots presented in Karol Capek's play R.U.R. / Rossum's Universal Robots/, where he imagined robots as intelligent machines which helped people to have an easier life but at the end of the day caused unemployment and anxiety in the society. The Japanese had been handier and created a robot which can help you to get out of bed, pick up a loaf of bread even without crushing it and it is also able to help you with your breakfast. A metallic robot, almost as tall as an average human. Unfortunately, its price is about $200 000, the battery needs to be recharged every 15 minutes and the robots will be available on a market in 2015. Until then you will have to find someone else to grab you a beer from the fridge while you are watching TV or maybe you should try to make use of the first robot created by the company General Motors in 1961 which was a die-casting mold used to move freshly made car parts into the pools filled with water.
