Apparently Google is up to no good. After it unveiled last month its display advertising project, this month rumour has it that the Internet Midas is plotting to come up with a new invention. At this rate, competition will never have even the slightest chance to take the lead on the Internet market, because the naughty Google is making sure it is well ahead of everyone. We live in the Internet era and music seems to be a part of our everyday life, which is reflected by the increasing sale of iPods, MP3 players or mobile phones with music applications. Google might have decided to exploit this two domains and signed cont! racts with major music labels in order to create a new feature that will facilitate the discovery, the sampling and buying of songs on the search engine. Moreover, with the help of the technology unveiled last week, the world’s most popular search engine is enabling the streaming of videos of songs. iLike and LaLa are among the partners helping with the project besides big names like Universal Music, Sony Music Entertainment or EMI Music. There will also be a "buy" button that will lead to different sites like iTunes Music Store, Rhapsody, doubleTwist or Amazon, where you can buy your favourite music. Google refused to make any comments, but most likely, it expects to have the final product before making any statements, just like it happened with DoubleClick. However, there is the certainty that by December a new music video service called Vevo will be launched and it shows how Google uses a very profitable business like Youtube to make it eve! n more profitable.
