iPad = not so revolutionary!
by Barbora Misakova
In the past the word “revolution” used to be connected with something really revolutionary. Today the word can be heard everywhere and it is connected with things that, at least for me, are simply new, but definitely not revolutionary. Apple Inc. especially fell in love with this word and they use it for any kind of device they create. For this year the iPad is that revolution. But is it really so epoch-making? Live Science’s review of iPad has shown this device actually doesn’t replace anything. There are too many things that will probably annoy you. First of them is its size – it is too big to carry it as an iPhone, what requires to carry it ! as any laptop. Even though it is thin, it is still heavy enough (1.5 pounds) and what is more it is also slippery, so you must be very careful not to slip it out of your hands. Neither the screen is very practical. Using it indoors will make your eyes tired as the screen has too much glare. On the other hand, you should forget reading in the sun as the screen looks washed out and it is almost impossible to view in bright sunlight. Also the idea of using your fingers is not very clever. After few minutes of use is your screen soiled by the fingerprints. It means another cleaning supplies will be needed what means another money spending. Other things that can be annoying you are the virtual keyboard or no USB port. Last but not least the price is just too high - $499 is just the beginning. So what do you think? Is the iPad revolutionary or not at all?
