Facebook becomes the second most viewed video site by Zuzana Zelenakova

When it comes to online video streaming Google with its YouTube is still number one. However, there has been a change when it comes to the second most viewed video site. Facebook managed to get ahead of Yahoo according to the digital tracking firm comScore. YouTube holds the top spot with its 1.9 billion viewing sessions and 146.3 million unique users. Facebook jumped from 166 million viewing sessions in July to 243 viewing sessions in August and thus earned the second place. Yahoo fell to the third spot with 229 million viewing sessions and 53.9 million viewers. At number four there was Music video website Vevo with 45.5 million viewers. Among the others that made it to t! he top ten are companies like NBC Universal, Fox, Viacom, and Turner. Break Media Network has been the latest addition to the top ten list with its 42 million viewers in August. The company ComScore also looked on online video advertisements and found out that video ads account for about 10.7 percent of all videos viewed online. Apart from the results of the survey mentioned above Yahoo Inc is in quite a lot of trouble right now. As Yahoo confirmed recently three top executives left the company including US operations chief Hillary Schneider, senior vice president for audience David Ko and vice president of media James Pitaro. In addition, the company´s stocks have fallen about 15 percent this year. However, CEO Carol Bartz continues to show an enthusiastic face to the world. "So everyone stay calm -- we have a good plan in place,,“ she said. "In fact, I'm more fired up than ever and can roll with the punches. Yahoo! is a great place." These are not the first de! partures of the executives since Bartz stepped in to the offic! e in Jan uary 2009.
