New runner-up in the wireless technologies sphere
by Zuzana Moravcova

The leading maker of satellite-powered navigational devices, Garmin ltd, is getting into the wireless phone business with a handset incorporating GPS, called Nuvifone. "We believe the Nuvifone will change the way people view converged devices in the future," says Cliff Pemble, the president and chief operating officer of the company. Telematics Research Group shows that navigation-equipped phones are going to outsell navigational devices by next year. Garmin ltd. has long been a leader in the market for global positioning satellite technology. In the business sphere of wireless technologies, there is another company that could potentially compete with it, creating a unique model for converting TV viewers to actual global clients. SigEx Telecom is quickly becoming the leading digital stream offering: talk, view, upload and share video clips through online TV broadcasting, blogs, websites, video-mails and SMS enhanced communications from cell phones to the Internet. It also allows unlimited free voice and video communications for multiple online people and its services are used in almost every country around the world. It has more premium offerings, such as making and receiving calls to and from landlines, mobile phones, video-mail, video-conferencing, and personalization, including websites and advertising. Now, Garmin ltd. might be,with their Nuvifone, a huge step ahead, but it is only matter of time, when SigEx Telecom turns out with such up-to-date technology, or, maybe, even more..
