Virgin Mobile spreads the news Claudia Sonea

STOP! This comes as a shock: the telecommunication industry will develop and probably consolidate? Although most of us imagine that industries usually develop and improve themselves as otherwise they would go bankrupt, Chief Executive of Virgin Mobile, Dan Schulman, insists in giving us this news himself. On Tuesday at the Telecom Summit, he presented his predictions for the telecom industry. Lets us see what Virgin Mobile is in fact. When you hear Virgin the first thing that goes through your mind is Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and it is a very good lead. Virgin Mobile is the world's first Mobile Virtual Network Operator; basically it is a partnership between Virgin Group used as a brand and several phone companies like T-Mobile in UK. Sprint Nextel also has big piece of this impressive stake. Being involved in telecommunication you would have thought, Virgin Mobile would come with practical things that attracts customer rather than mere statements about what it will be in the appropriate future. Yet, Schulman did nothing more than forecast consolidation in the U.S. telecommunications industry, partnerships between networks and smaller phone companies. In this context he stated for Reuters Global Technology and Media that Virgin is trying to get through a deal with SK Telecom which has Helio under control. As awkward as it may seem, Schulman did all the things I mentioned above. However, I still don’t know why he did them. If someone is able to enlighten me, please do so.
