Comcast was hacked on Wednesday! It is bad to be happy of someone else’s misery, but somehow I cannot be sorry for Comcast misfortune. Not long ago the largest US cable television company and the second largest Internet service provider proved to have been controlling subscribers’ access to file-sharing networks like eDonke, Gnutella and BitTorrent. I wonder how they felt when they lost control. BroadbandReports.com detailed that Comcast Corp.'s Web portal was hacked just for several hours after 11 pm and 14.1 million subscribers were left unable to check their emails or to read news. The company’s spokeswoman, Jennifer Khoury, assured the customers that hackers did not retrieved any private information and that the authorities were informed of the incident and measures will be taken. Comcast.com domain name was directed to other sites and no one could prevent them from doing what they pleased. The message sent by the intruders was: “RoXed”. Meantime, some subscribers still struggle to regain access to their accounts. How in the world hackers managed to get control of one of the most powerful company in the US? It does huge deals like that with The Big Ten Network that bring a lot of revenue, thus they should be able to invest in an unbeatable system. After this happening, they might even do it. Their current situation seems to embody Justin’s song- what goes around comes around. The company received a piece of its own medicine and saw it is for other to control you and everything you do. Too bad that innocent subscribers got hurt in the process.
