Another "revolutionary" thing? by Barbora Misakova

There is nothing in the world of technology what would amaze me during the late few years. All these technological toys that are usually introduced as revolutionary just makes me angry. What is so revolutionary on a thing that makes us even lazier? I know I should be just quiet, as there are still too many people interested in it, but I can’t. Anyway, the latest revolutionary thing should be long-awaited operating system called OS 6.0 that allegedly is one of the biggest BlackBerry overhauls in years. Analysts were supposedly “shocked and awed” by this new system and as said Nick Agostino, Mackie Research Capital analyst, the audience was during the whole ! demonstration quiet and after that it just broke into applause. It was “the first time I had seen that type of response midway through (a) presentation.” Agostino said. This new system should dispel concerns that rivals smartphones like Apple Inc’s iPhone and Motorola Inc’s Droid are being favored by consumers. As the indicators of future success are RIM’s looses that retraced as operating system was unveiled. But there are still some other questions that should be answered. How long will it take till all RIM’s devices will run the new operating system? And will be able to upgrade older smartphones? Answers such as: “(everything) takes time” and “We are going to try and do our best” are just too trite. These answers won’t be answered so soon. Customers have always the “best” information and the basic one in this case is that the software improvements will allow RIM to compete more effectively agai! nst the iPhone, Droid and other smartphones. For those of you ! who are really curious and impatient, I just wish good luck. For other technological “losers” as I am, it was simply useless information.
