iPad idea was there before iPhone says Steve Jobs by Zuzana Zelenakova

On Tuesday night, Apple´s chief executive Steve Jobs delivered a speech at All Things Digital technology conference in southern California saying that the company´s latest sensation, a tablet computer iPad has ambition to eventually replace personal computers for many people. He also revealed that the idea for iPad actually came before iPhone. When talking about iPad replacing personal computers used an interesting analogy of trucks and cars. He said that all vehicles used to be trucks but now they are cars with more attractive technological solutions that contribute to the comfort ride. People from the PC era are quick to adapt to various innovations, and so he ! might be right about that one. The idea for iPad came at the beginning of the 21st century, when the company was working on a telephone. The main feature from iPad´s prototype that Jobs used in iPhone is the notoriously famous scrolling mechanism. "I had this idea about having a glass display, a multitouch display you could type on with your fingers. I asked our folks: could we come up with a multitouch display that we could type on? And six months later, they came back with this prototype display. And I gave it to one of our really brilliant UI guys and he called me back a few weeks later and had inertial scrolling working and I thought, ‘my God, we can build a phone with this!’ So we put the tablet on the shelf... and we went to work on the iPhone," said Jobs at the conference in Rancho Palos Verdes. The original iPhone was released in 2007 and basically initiated a revolution in the industry. Now, the touchscreen phones are all over the market making big! money. Apple is still keeping the same creative and innovativ! e pace a nd there is a brand new version of iPhone coming with the launch scheduled for 7 June.
