New from Yahoo
by Claudia Sonea
Yahoo is still on the market! The giant American corporation which is largely known for its mail services that many people all over the world managed to get through the recession without selling itself to Microsoft that was courting it for a long time. So after a cat and mouse chase, both companies agreed on a partnership and buried the hatchet. Yet, Yahoo needs a boost a revamp in order to keep its current users and to attract some new ones. Due to the fact that the Internet represents a competitive market, Yahoo’s CEOs agreed too that there is a great need to come up with something new. Google is so far ahead that giant steps should be made for Yahoo to reach it. Why would anyone choose Yahoo’s browser over Google’s? For the time been there are no reasons, but Yahoo is hopping to change all that in the nearby future. Rumor ! has it that new features will be added to Yahoo! sites like giving its email users the opportunity to share online activities and interests with contacts or use the email platform to post comments on Facebook. Next on the list for this summer is to add a link to the popular messaging service Twitter. The changes will take place gradually and users’ have been warned all week about the privacy settings and controls. The stake is high, as Facebook and Google already confronted with privacy issues, thus the move must be planned to the very last detail attempting to avoid a similar fate. Yahoo’s opening to a larger communication between sites and even between users might still be at risk. Don’t go away, things are just getting better….
