The current trend in electronic goods is simple – increasing number of one time paid actions. The devices are becoming more universal, they are simple if it comes to the hardware. Plus they are becoming totally dependent on internet network. What am I saying?Let's talk simply. Companies, just like Apple produce kind of multitasking device – let's say iPad. This machine is able to play music and movies, watch photos, read e-books and connect to internet and download. Its whole connectivity is reduced on air network. So let's say, the first disadvantage is that you can't use it in an uncovered area, but the global trend is to cover more and more places with suffic! ient wifi signal. So how does the architecture of these devices react? They try to design universal player, reader and editor. Anything else should be moved back to the company. Let's say, you can watch the movie, but when you want to do something more difficult or not standard, you have to connect to the server or a store – let's say Apple store who operates with more than 200,000 applications being able to do more less anything you want.These are not in standard equipment of your device, so logically you are paying for that. But even payments are changing – you can't buy them and pay once and for good. They are designed to be paid anytime you approach them. That way the whole payment system changes.If the company succeess and create strong enough viral network being able to cover million and million of users at the same time, then devices even notebooks and pc will adapt into this system. You won't buy complex machine, instead of that you will buy a machine an! d buy applications, downloads and anything necessary every tim! e per us e.Although it may seem like a distant future, it is not. On the contrary – internet generation remains of a perfect and undiscovered gold mine. Apple has started this trend, but more are to come.For instance you can't buy iPad alone – it has to be on contract with specified internet provider who limit you either on downloads or payments. So the machine itself is just the extention of this system. Customer is not buying the machine, but primarily the contract along with the machine.
