3D glasses-free TV by Milota Sidorova

It's been just few days when analog darkness laid down on Czech Republic once and for all. Things are moving forward and technical progress is slowly advancing even in mass media in central and Eastern Europe. After many of TV programs moved into the virtual network space, nothing seems to be impossible – actually there are new trends to follow. Today we go to the cinemas to enjoy 3D movies, we buy consoles and glasses for 3D and I can imagine that one day even mass media – like national TV will be able on 3D mode. But it won't take a long and a customer will be able to buy a 3D TV by himself. First swallows were mobile phones, digital cameras and game consoles such as Nintendo 3DS. But there were always glasses required. Now what seems to be a break through is upcoming Toshiba's 3D television release. It will be the first TV set producing 3D image without using glasses. The technology requires special screen layer that divide the signal into 9 points that are ! broadcasted into 9 different positions in front of the screen. Customer will be able to see 3D image from all angles. So far, Toshiba spoke about 12 inch and 20 inch television, each requiring different 3D view distance (90 cm – 35.4 inches for 20 inch model and 65 cm – 25.6 inch for 12 inch size). The product will be launched in Japan around Christmas and will cost about 120,000 yen ($1,400) for smaller and approximately 240,000 yen ($2,8000) for larger device.
