Warner Bros online Claudia Sonea

After Paramount, Paramount Vantage, MGM, United Artists and Lionsgate announced a partnership with Viacom concluded with a television channel and video-on-demand service, the question that troubled me was whether Warner Bros. will do something similar or join in. Finally, I got my answer which is partially satisfying. The good news is that two Web sites supported by ad revenue will be launched by Warner Bros. Actually, one already become available starting Monday. It is called KidsWB.com and is meant for children (although even grown ups will love it too) thus has all the famous loved characters that the company created across time: Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo, Batman. TheWB.com is the other site that will be launched in May and promise shows worldwide adored "Friends" and "Smallville", but will also include made-for-online shows. Yet, there might be some problems with this one as the studios has no major broadcast network and sold its productions to different broadcasters like NBC or ABC which have the right to post the shows on their own sites. Group president Bruce Rosenblum said that they will be one season behind, but they don’t expect to be a hit from the start because even the online viewing is at the beginning. Mattel Inc., McDonald's Corp. and Johnson & Johnson are among the brands that will be advertising on Warner Bros’. Also, lucky users’ of Facebook like me will be able to view TheWB.com inside their homepages. Looking forward to the launch of the site, what about you?
