After Apple also Nokia announces it own tablet by Zuzana Zelenakova

Apple launched its new tablet computer only recently, and now also Nokia follows in its footsteps. Finnish company came with the news about developing its own tablet. Work on a new Nokia gadget is already in progress and it should be available as soon as this fall. "Nokia hasn't fielded any breakaway products in years," said analyst Ashkok Kumar from Rodman Renshaw. "This is a new window, and Nokia had better be at the starting gate if and when the product category takes off." It could be said, that Nokia properly entered the PC market only recently, in 2009. Last year in August, it introduced the Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop. It is the Nokia´s first computer on the m! arket in almost two decades. It seems the success of Apple´s products pushes Nokia forward, as many others. After Apple´s iPhone became so popular Nokia began to work on its own large touch screen cellphone, but it took them almost two years to introduce the final product. The Finnish corporation came up with its first touchscreen Internet tablet back in 2005. Nokia 770 Internet Tablet runs Maemo operating system, a version of open source Linux operating system. Since Nokia joined forces with Intel Corp. recently, many speculate whether the new tablet will use the MeeGo operating system, which is the result of the cooperation. The other possibility is Microsoft Corp. Windows software. "The market will play host to a flood of 'me too' tablets in 2010, but it's an immature product category with an unproven use case," said CCS Insight analyst Geoff Blaber. Apple´s iPad sold 300,000 pieces on its first day and it is expected that one million more will be sold by ! the end of this quarter. For the whole of 2010 it could be abo! ut five millions.
