Avatar creator convinced NASA to put 3-D camera on Mars by Zivka Deleva

One man in the history of the world cinema is going to be inscribed as a pioneer for lots of thing he has done at the cinema of the new era. He has directed the most expensive movies, with the biggest box-office results, “Terminator”, “Titanic”, and lot more titles that the moviegoers remember well. Yes, you guessed well. I am talking about James Cameron, one of the most creative filmmaker and magician of the modern times. “Avatar”, his latest movie turned the world upside down. The public all over the world was amazed by his creation and vision for the camera, the motional pictures that know how to make you leave you breathless. Afte! r that success, Cameron now is going to help the science as well, helping scientists to build a high-resolution 3-D camera on the next-generation Mars rover. The camera is supposed to be placed atop Curiosity, the next mission that is planned to be launched next year. Cameron convinced NASA to put a high-resolution 3-D camera. He is sure that these 3-D “eyes” will help to capture public imagination in the mission. "It's a very ambitious mission. It's a very exciting mission. The scientists are going to answer a lot of really important questions about the previous and potential future habitability of Mars” – Cameron said. NASA administrator Charles Bolden agreed very easily on the first January meeting with Cameron. The epic Avatar director will be named a co-investigator of the 3-D mast camera, that San Diego- based Malin Space Science Systems is already building. This world is an exciting place with people like James Cameron making miracles.
