Ban for BlackBerry in United Arab Emirates by Zivka Deleva

The United Arab Emirates are suspicious that cell phones BlackBerry are easily used by the United States of America for espionage. The police is planning to ban this type of devices as well because Israeli intelligence department can enter the BlackBerry data. They plan to suspend the use of messenger, email and Web browser services from October 11. About half a million people in the UAE are using the Canadian-based RIM (Research in Motion) best brand. What a paranoia! The police says that they are not quiet sure why would the US be so interested in their country, but they simply believe it! "The Unites States is the primary beneficiary of having no controls over the Bla! ckBerry, as it has an interest to spy on the UAE. The West has accused us of curbing the liberties of BlackBerry users, while America, Israel, Britain and other countries are allowed access to all transferred data" – Dubai police chief, Lt. Gen.Dhahi Khalfan Tamim said. And where is Israeli part of the guilt? It was supposed that Israeli agents were to blame for the murder of a Palestinian militant at a hotel in Dubai. Similar problem with the BlackBerry security has happened in India few months ago. But RIM stayed in this country after they agreed that the company would afford access to secure BlackBerry data. The reason why officials in Emirates and Saudi Arabia are nervous is because the telephone’s data is encrypted and sent to offshore servers, so they simply can’t get to the possible spies. RIM has spread its cell phone in more than 175 countries worldwide and doesn’t intent to change its way of work. If someone has a problem, he should look ! it on some other place.
