Advertising has struggled last years. Whether it was caused by the crisis or kind of customer exhaustion, it is not clear. Perhaps both of them are reasons. The fact is, marketing strategies have increased and tried to find any possible medium how to get to the customer. Will to sell was so immense that cities, roads, houses even parks became bare background for billboards, bigboards and any kind ad. But this practice somehow didn’t bring expected success, instead of people got used to colorful, messy urban environment and according some scientists they became intact in their environment. So it seems golden era of advertising might have reached its peak in the way w! e know it. It is not a big surprise if one says the future of communication technologies lies in smaller devices with constant on-line access. Markets have been overwhelmed by billion of smartphones and devices of any kind. The times one has had PC in home are gone. Trend is to be on-line more and more hours per day. Marketers have noticed that and immediately with smartphones appeared myriads of apps of any kind. Games, information channels, fun, education or GPS for instance. And it was not big deal to put ads into it – let’s take a look on two, three important examples – Google has come with perfect product Google Earth and while you get excited by virtual planetary walk, you can also activate a layer called “places of interest”. Thousands of thousands small adverts appear in your screen and by the way, you can find out where is a good place to eat, where is a accommodation, where is a tourist landmark. Fine, Google however decided to extend! this technology into Android based smartphones and developed ! mTrip ap plication. By activating it, one can get the same insight as in Google Earth – better, he gets GPS navigation with interactive advertising. For some it may be useful, some may get lost a sensation of getting lost in the city. With these apps the city appears in your mobile and even demands to be discovered. Take a look at last example – with Facebook, the biggest social network you can activate a service that will detect you. Once in a moment all your friends get complete insight to all your actions, because Facebook indicates your location on-line. I will skip unnecessary talkies about better communication and hanging out, but focus on important. It is just a matter of time when local shops and ads will attack Facebook and will notify you any time you pass by. Since Facebook’s biggest disadvantage is total lack of privacy, this scenario may not be science fiction. And then the city, or better said its business side penetrate to your mobile – and it&! #8217;s a fact you can’t just switch it off that easily.
