Facebook and Microsoft together in the game
by Zivka Deleva
Microsoft Corp. and Facebook connected! They are going to collaborate through Microsoft’s search engine Bing, which can show you what does your Facebook friends do. Honestly, I don’t understand why someone needs this, but OK, let’s try to understand the intention and not judge in front. The main thing that Bing is going to show you is whether your friends like on some of the Bing pages. By far, everyone that has a Facebook profile knows that the option like already exists. For instance, when this is going to start to work, when you are going to search for some news on the net and some of your friends have read it the same and put the like at their profile! , than you can see that, and actually, your friends’ profiles are going to appear at the screen. This is not the only option with the new feature. It will also help to find a friend which has the same name with a celebrity which is very difficult to find, because of the huge information that flow in the net for some star. This new project was launched at a media event at Microsoft’s Silicon Valley offices in Mountain View, California. And how will Bing achieve that? It has the access to the “instant personalization” part where you can see all the interests of the Facebook members. With this idea, I believe that Microsoft who today holds the third place as a search provider. Everybody fights with Google, and Yahoo is the second best. This feature again opens the privacy question. While Facebook had some problems in the discretion, sometime already has a better private policy which was pledged by the members.
