Apple stable despite the shaking stock market
by Martina Harvanova

The bold changes in the U. S. stock market reported the last week were mostly predicted to weaken the position of the majority of American corporations. The prognosis didn't come true in the case of Apple Inc., luckily for them. Also the investors don't need to feel nervous about their shares The company, formerly Apple Computers Inc., was introduced January 3, 1977. Its first big success came with the Macintosh released in 1984. It was the first commercially successful personal computer to feature a mouse and a graphical user interface rather than a command line interface. The golden age of Apple arrived from 1989 to 1991 although it needed to compete with still more developing and demanded Microsoft Windows that was incompatible with the Apple products. The breakthrough occurred 1997 as Apple's CEO Steve Jobs announced the company's entering into a partnership with Microsoft to releasing new versions of Microsoft Office for the Macintosh. The year was also a step towards new technologies, because the Apple Store was introduced to provide customers with on-line retail store. Apple began to occupy the first market positions mostly around the beginning of the new century. Between early 2003 and January 2006, the price of a share of Apple's stock increased more than tenfold, from a little more than US$6 per share to more than US$80 per share. On January 13, 2006, Apple' surpassed Dell. And how does it look like nowadays? For the fiscal year (beginning from October) of 2007 the company sold 2.3 million Macs, this year was a record one also for the sales of iPods and hot iPhone. The worldwide annual sales of Apple are represented with the number of $24.01 billion. No matter what analysts say about the Apple's shares on the stock market, the revenues for the last months distinctly show the popularity of Apple Inc. Its brands are deemed the most popular among the customers and its sales have never been so sharp. Mainly, thanks to its philosophy and comprehensive aesthetic design Apple is constantly winning a distinct reputation in the electronics industry.
