Apple has done it again! After breaking phone market records and launching a new trend with the iPhone, now Apple came up with something better and catchier: the iPad. Since its launch in April, over 1 million iPads have been sold up to now and the forecast for the following months looks brighter. Why would anyone buy an iPad? Mainly because it’s lighter and smaller than a notebook and has more features than a smartphone, thus the customer gets a two-in-one product that will perform both the functions of a computer (to go online, play games, watch movies) and of a mobile phone. The iPad has a 25 cm touchscreen display th! at is resistant to fingerprints and scratches; users don’t need gloves or styli to use the iPad. Furthermore, the display responds to an ambient light sensor that adjusts screen brightness and to a sensor for iPad orientation from portrait to landscape mode. You would buy it because it has WI-FI connectivity, 1 GHz Apple A4 Processor, 3G cellular HSDPA, 2G cellular EDGE, built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR interface. However, there are some disadvantages, like the fact that it has no wireless wide-area network interface, nor does it have an option to expand storage or file transfer protocol. Bad news for T-Mobile 3G Network and Verizon users, the iPad is available only for compatible GSM carriers. For now, the iPad is officially available for purchase only in USA, but Apple announced that starting from July it will also be introduced on the markets of countries like Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands,! New Zealand. Romanian users can only buy them from the black ! market o r from third parties distributors who tax an additional amount of 10-14%. Stay connected, more to come…
