After a grim period of economic crisis, companies are finally starting to be relaxed and make bold acquisitions. In fact the computer market was not that affected by the economic crisis that led to the bankruptcy of so many companies. Even at the peaks of the recession, companies like Microsoft or Apple were making bold investment to renew their products or to expand the business. Let’s take a look at the world's largest computer company and systems integrator known under the name of IBM. Although last year the company spent with acquisitions less than they did this year just in the first quarter, the investment still rose to $1.5 billion whi! ch is a lot of money thinking that some companies would have used it to avoid going bankrupt. Taking into consideration, that IMB must keep up the flag of leadership and be one step ahead the competition, we should not be surprised that they purchase smaller companies with innovative projects. According to an EMC-sponsored study, the next best thing in the IT sector is cloud computing as the amount of information created online and the number of times it was shared, stored or uploaded in one year increased 62 percent since 2008. Therefore, in order to remain in trends, IBM purchased Cast Iron Systems, one of the top cloud integration companies on the market with partners like Microsoft, Amazon.com and Google. With prospects that cloud computing will stimulate over $US1 trillion in incremental business revenue by 2012, giants from the IT industry will most definitely take interest in investing in mobility and cloud computing. Intel, Hewlett-Pa! ckard Co, Cisco Systems are already rumoured to follow IBM in ! the acqu isition of companies like Cast Iron. Stay connected more to come…
