Two giant companies from the mobile phone industry and from the IT industry joined forces to become an unbeatable for on the market. Thus, since Nokia and Microsoft made public their alliance in 2009, everyone was eager to see what the partnership will give. Before launching the long expected Nokia phones with Microsoft's Office programs, this Wednesday they announced the software called simply Microsoft Communicator. The new software is supposed to offer document sharing, live meetings and video conferencing capabilities for smartphones. Furthermore, the Communicator enables user to see their “col! leagues'' availability, and click to communicate with them using instant messenger, e-mail, text or phone call. Users will be able to update their own presence, start or join chat sessions, call directly from the contact card. Users can download the software straight from Nokia's Ovi Store taking into consideration that it is available on the Blackberries, the Eseries enterprise phones, the top end E72 and the E52. the first result of their new software collaboration aimed at breaking the dominance of Research in Motion's BlackBerry in wireless services for corporations. The partnership was born from the need to better compete with the success of new technologies like Apple Inc.'s iPhone, Research In Motion Ltd.'s BlackBerry and Google's Android. However, both Nokia and Microsoft want to maintain competition in some areas which have yet to be divulged to the media.
